Penultimate match in this year's Summer league and we were on home turf at Partridge Lakes, Culcheth, Warrington.
We had a fantastic turnout of thirty anglers today which is the highest for a considerable number of years but is a double edged sword as having thirty anglers on Covery 6 made it tough for everyone.
Most anglers arrived for 8.00am and today club member Phil Clare sorted the pegging out so after breakfast and a natter we got the draw done for 8.30am so everyone could drive off to their pegs and get set up for the 10.00am all-in.
One of our past members and former Club Secretary Joe Worsley returned to the fold, making an impact straight away by smashing a float belonging to our coach driver Colin. Off to a good start Joe!
Weather today was quite pleasant at about 20 degree's although in places there was a stiff breeze blowing from time to time.
As mentioned earlier it was tough going today as we knew it would be with so many anglers battling for fish.
The all-out duly arrived at 3.00pm and the weigh-in completed by Alan, James and John. Pleased to say everone caught, although the unlucky recipient of the Golden Peg today John Osborne wished he had caught more to win the £200 which is currently in the Golden Peg pot, but as ever the curse continues.
Congratulations to all of our anglers today in particular Jon, Neil S and Mark our top three today.
The next match is only a week away and is our final match and a coach trip for this Summer and we are off to Tunnel Barn Farm. So look forward to seeing you all next Saturday 5th September bright and early.
See you on a match soon.
