| 17th July - 15th August 2010 - National Fishing Month |
| |
| National Fishing Month takes place from 17th July to 15th August 2010, the idea behind this national event is is to encourage every family member to have a go at fishing from whatever cultural or social background they may be from. The initiative’s timing has been deliberately planned to incorporate the end of the school terms and more of the school holidays to enable activities to be linked with both schools and families. |
This year we have organised four events which are free to enter and are aimed at young people. All events take place at Meadow View Fishery, Lymm and they will take place on the dates shown below and run from 4pm to 7pm each time. Anyone interested in taking part can either contact us through our website or contact Paul on 07803 662159. There are ten spaces at each event and they will be on a first come first served basis.
As the event is aimed at newcomers, all tackle and bait will be supplied for those attending, all you need to do is wear suitable clothing and maybe bring refreshments with you. There is a small tuck shop at the fishery along with on-site parking, toilets and is suitable for disabled access. |
| The three hour sessions are aimed at giving basic skills in angling and an opportunity to catch fish on an excellent commercial fishery. Coaching will be led by a qualified coach along with assistants, all of whom are CRB checked. After three hours hopefully your appetite will be wetted for the sport of angling. |
These events have been organised with support from the Angling Development Board, Environment Agency and Meadow View Fisheries. We express our gratitude to all for the support and the help in organising these events.
Look forward to seeing you at one of our events.

| Friday 23rd July 2010 - Quiz Night |
| |
To raise funds to support our clubs aim in achieving 'ClubMark' status which is a nationally recognised standard for sports clubs in the UK. We are holding a quiz night, see poster below.
We would love to see as many members, families and friends as possible. Our club has aims to coach young people from schools, youth organisations etc giving them an opportunity to take up an active sport. ClubMark status is a standard recognised by all organisations, local authorities etc that deal with young people in our society.
Attending our quiz night which will be a fun time for all helps us achieve our aims.
Supporting us with this event is Birchwood Lions to whom we are indebted for their help. |
