Second of our Summer matches and first of out coach trips, there were a few bleary eyed anglers getting on the coach at 5.30am in the morning, and one angler who enjoyed Warrington Walking day too much didn't make it at all! (Darren).
Travelling to deepest darkest Warwickshire we went through plenty of rain, and the clouds and the day looked ominous.
We all arrived at about 8.00am and made our way to 'The Piggery' for breakfast, and the match draw.
The match started at 9.45am with a steady shower of rain falling although it was quite warm at about 18 degrees Centigrade and not much breeze.
On my travels around the pool as Paperazzi it appeared everyone was catching reasonably well and we were hopeful of a good match and a good catch. We did get a few breaks in the rain which is when your paperazzi dashed around to get the photo's of todays match.
The match finished at 2.45pm and the weigh-in took place.
You can see from the weights below that we did have a good haul of fish which in totals about 635lbs. Too put that into perspective we caught a total of 399lbs in the whole of this year's Spring League (three matches).
Everyone agreed this has been the best match we have had for quite a while, and although there is ever only one winner (well done Armo), everyone was satified with the day.
Mike Lewis was the poor unfortunate who got the 'Golden Peg', and as ever it remains elusive, well we've said it before and we will say it again, there is always next time!
Our usual pit stop on the way back at a local pub, which I won't name because of a 'discussion' your Paperazzi had with the Manager, but drinks were plenty, before we set off back up North, arriving home at about 9.00pm.
We now wait until 14th July when we will be at Blake Hall on Penninsula Lake for the next match in our Summer series, let's hope it is as good as today's match.....See you there!
