Second of our three matches and for once it was a reasonable Summer's evening although at 17 degree's it wasn't hot, but at least it was dry.
Bit of a disaster start with a delay due to an earlier match on the same pool and then one of our 'Senior' adult members took a tumble down some steps, but other than a broken nail and damaged pride he was fine.
Because of the delayed start a decision was made for 'all-in' when you are ready, and 'all-out' was due at 9.00pm but we got an extension to 9.30pm off Margaret and Dave the owners, so thanks for that peeps.
Has to be said that fishing wasn't as frantic as on previous occasions, but the Summer hasn't been the best, however the majority of people caught and again baits were varied, no one particular bait was outstanding. Some fished the pole, some fished method. The winning peg on the day match was peg 40 with 63lb but that was in the day and it was a six hour match, we at best had four hours.
Twenty members fished, of which three were Junior members which is good to see and well done for stepping up.
As mentioned all-out was at 9.30pm and the weigh-in commenced under assistant referee Alan Lamb and netsmen James and John Bryan. Weigh-in was quite swift as we were beginning to lose the light as by this time it was after 10.00pm, even pit ponies are in bed at this time!
Thanks to everyone who fished, thanks for your patience at the start and to our officials for a speedy weigh-in.
The final Evening match is on 22nd July, meet at 4.00pm. Please ensure you are prompt, or let us know if you are going to be late (ring Frank or Paul, details on website), we can draw you a peg if we know you are fishing.
See you on a match soon.
That's it for now.
See you all soon......Tightlines.....
