Weekend League - Brookside - Kingfisher & Meadow - 4th July 2020

COVID Safe Practice

Today's Match Sheet (pdf format) Match Sheet

At long last we are back!
Been a long while since our last club match back in December 2019.
Quite a few changes since then, we have all been dealing with COVID-19 and only now are we able to run a club match with a degree of confidence and more importantly safety for all.
Members attending yesterday maintained social distancing for the draw, all match payments were by card/contactless, no cash changing hands, that will continue with or without COVID 19.
All payouts were done by bank transfer on the evening after the match, so once again no money having to be handled.

We had sixteen on the match and following the admin and the draw, all anglers were able to drive to their pegs. The usual five hour duration started at 10:30 and finished at 3:30.

The weigh-in at the end was carefully done by James and Frank, with all members acutely aware of the distancing required.

We had two Golden Pegs on this match, those being Geoff Burgess and Frank Davies. Neither of whom won the match, so no monies paid out, see more on Golden Peg below.

This was the first match where we have a three tier structure depending on what each angler wants. Members could pay either £10, £12 or £20 entry fee.

£10 - for those who just want to fish against others for the fun of it, with nothing to be won wherever they finish in the match.

£12 - for those who feel they have a chance of winning a section but not confident (nor eligible for) a top three place.

£20 - for those who feel confident of getting a top three place or a section win. Note that if they do get in top three and win section, the section win money would default to the next highest weighing angler in that section.

We no longer do Golden Peg or contribute to it, however the money in the fund is on offer at each weekend match, by way of two draws per match, whoever wins and has drawn one of the Golden Pegs will receive £50 in addition to match winnings. This will continue across all weekend matches until the Golden Peg fund is used up.

So congratulations to the following:-

1st - Dave Newton
2nd - Rob Healey
3rd - Mark Davies

Section Win - Alan Lamb
Section Win - Frank Davies
Section Win - Neil Davies

Below are all the results in 'place order', note the peg numbers are ours, and don't relate to any peg numbering set by the fishery.

Hope to see you on a match soon, the next two are:-

Tuesday 14th July - Brookside Fishery on Kingfisher
Saturday 25th July - Heronbrook on Meadow
