Weekend League - Heronbrook Fishery - Meadow Pool - 25th July 2020

COVID Safe Practice

Today's Match Sheet (pdf format) Match Sheet

Second match in what is now a shortened year, today we were down in Staffordshire at Heronbrook fishing on Meadow Pool.
Sixteen anglers made the trip and after paying subs and pegging the pool we had the draw at 9:00am with James Bryan pulling the peg numbers out for all of the attending anglers.

After the success of the first match we will continue our three tier match payment structure as it seems to suit all anglers depending on their skill level, confidence and what they want to do,
so just to recap match fee's:-

£10 - for those who just want to fish against others for the fun of it, with nothing to be won wherever they finish in the match.

£12 - for those who feel they have a chance of winning a section but not confident (nor eligible for) a top three place. A section win is £10 (paid by bsnk transfer to the recipients)

£20 - for those who feel confident of getting a top three place or a section win. Note that if they do get in top three and win section, the section win money would default to the next highest weighing angler in that section. Top three payout is variable depending on number of anglers choosing this match option

We pulled out two numbers to contend Golden Peg and the chance for one of them to win if they won the match, giving them £50 in addition to what the match winners amount is (today being £50 for the winner).
Phil Clare and Peter Newton were today's recipients, however neither had the success they wanted, ie to win the match and win Golden Peg, so it will continue on at future weekend matches, until the Golden Peg fund is used up. At this rate, may take a while!

After a brief spell of rain the weather improved, which we didn't expect and certainly wasn't forecast to. By the time the match started at 10:30am it was quite pleasant, and remained so for the rest of the day, although a breeze did get up and made presentation on some pegs difficult.

The match concluded at 3:30pm and the weigh in was conducted by James Bryan with each angler transferring his catch to the weigh bag maintaining social distancing. On completion the results were in and it was quite an evenly balanced match, with the exception of Alan who blitzed the match with a fantastic 136lb 11oz.

So congratulations to the following:-

1st - Alan Lamb
2nd - Dave Newton
3rd - Mark Davies

Section Win - John Osborne
Section Win - Geoff Burgess
Section Win - James Bryan

Below are all the results in 'place order', note the peg numbers are ours, and don't relate to any peg numbering set by the fishery. At the top of this page you can click on "Match Report" and that will let you view a PDF version of the weigh sheet so you can see the sections and who was in who's section as opposed to place order by weight below.

Finally well done to our newest club/match anglers Jack Wibberley and Peter Gibbons who both got decent weights today! Hope you are enjoying our matches guys. Everyone caught so it was a good day!

Hope to see you on a match soon, the next two matches are:-

Tuesday 28th July - Partridge Lakes - Covey 5 (Midweek League)
Tuesday 11th August - Sycamore Fishery - Rowan (Midweek League)
